How does it work?

Powder coating, also known as powder paint, is applied to the aluminum using an electrostatic spray. By electrically charging the powder paint and grounding the aluminum profile, the powder adheres to the surface. The profile is then placed in an oven to cure the powder layer. In the oven, the coating flows out to form a smooth, durable finish. This process is called curing. The resulting layer is scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and impact-resistant.

To ensure the process runs correctly, holes are required at the ends of the profiles. Upon request, we can saw off the ends. Because the powder coating is already cured in the oven, the aluminum profiles are immediately ready for packaging and delivery after further processing.

Gecoat aluminium voor buiten

Aluminium poedercoaten kan voor zowel binnen als buiten. Voor het buitengebruik van gepoedercoate aluminium profielen wordt de poedercoating in meerdere lagen aangebracht. Als eerste wordt er een epoxylak op het aluminium gespoten. Vervolgens komt laag 2 erbovenop. Dat kan een acrylaat of een polyurethaanlak zijn. De kans op corrosie vermindert door het aanbrengen van meerdere lagen. Daarnaast vergroot het de randbescherming.

Color powder-coated aluminium

You have decided to have your aluminum profile powder coated. We offer a variety of color options. Would you like the color of your custom profile to match an existing color? If you do not know a specific color code but do have a color sample, we can “match” the color. This ensures there is no color difference.

We don’t only look at the color itself, as matching color alone is usually not sufficient. The level of gloss must also be taken into account. This way, you can be sure there is no visible difference between the existing and the matched color.

“Horizontal and vertical powder coating of aluminum

Dalupo offers both horizontal and vertical powder coating. In most cases, profiles are powder coated horizontally. The same applies to anodizing. For large and/or sturdy profiles, this works well, as they can be clamped at the ends.

For very small profiles, this is more difficult, as they are not strong enough to be suspended only at the ends. That is why horizontal powder coating requires an additional suspension point halfway along the profile, otherwise the material may sag. This suspension point will always remain visible after the profile has been powder coated.

That is why we also offer the option of vertical powder coating for your aluminum profile. With vertical powder coating, you avoid the issue of an additional suspension point. Much more practical! Horizontal powder coating is possible for lengths up to 12 meters. Vertical powder coating is available for lengths up to 9 meters.
